THIS IS IT - bloggers verdict
Yesterday, Michael Jackson’s new single This Is It was released online and to radio stations around the world. WhatsYourPlace was among the first media to offer the song, and we did this not anywhere, but on (virtual) Neverland itself! In the meantime, the highly anticipated record has received lots of feedback - time to sum up, what’s the verdict? Let’s have a look at how bloggers comment (please add your voice by listening to This Is It here on virtual Neverland and taking the poll with one click. After registration you may also leave a comment):
- Lance Drummonds: “How can you not rejoice when you hear new Michael Jackson”
- Novelas y Mas: “Oh My gosh! I really like this song… it is better than I could had imagined.”
- Shameless Hype: “Beautiful =)”
- Backseat Cuddler: “I think the Song is great. Makes me tear up a bit.”
- This week on the Internet: “It’s pretty good. It’s got an old-school MJ feel”
- Tha Doghouse: “I love the song”
- Slobogs: “This song is actually pretty good”
- The Pollitikat: “After hearing the song it sounds very incomplete, and choppy. I don’t know if Michael would have wanted this song released in this condition. The lyrics are not coherent, the music sounds bare boned like a studio recording in its early stages and not polished like other Michael pieces.”
- Loft 965: “It’s not Michael’s greatest effort”
- Brave New Wave: “This Is It is a simple ballad that is reminiscent of the brother’s old school Motown work, but when compared to ballads on Dangerous like the brilliant Will You Be ThereThis Is It doesn’t feel nearly as powerful, inventive, or groundbreaking.”
- hecklerspray: “it’s being released as a transparently opportunistic single.”
- Chizmizan: “It really sounds a bit prophetic but I like the song a lot”
On that sample, the verdict is 7:5 pro This Is It, which may actually mirror the general opinion pretty close. But now add your own voice by taking the poll.
